Robert J. Willis is Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan where he also Research Scientist at the Institute for Social Research and Research Associate of the Population Studies Center. Before coming to Michigan in 1995, he had served on the faculties of the University of Chicago, SUNY at Stony Brook and Stanford University. Willis is currently the Principal Investigator on a large longitudinal survey, the Health and Retirement Study, which is collecting data on Americans over age 50. He is an authority in the economics of the family, marriage, and fertility, labor economics, human capital and population and economic development.
