Kathryn Edin is is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include poverty and social inequality, urban and community sociology, family and gender, and public policy. Edin is currently involved in several qualitative studies involving low-income families, father involvement in families with young children and families' methods of coping with welfare reform.
