Vikram Pandit Citigroup CEO on Campus to Discuss “Responsible Finance and the Future of Banking”
Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup, was at Olin Nov. 9 to share an informal dialogue with students about the current financial landscape and responsible finance. Professor Anjan Thakor, Olin’s senior associate dean, also took part in the conversation. The forum was followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.

BusinessWeek Olin Business School #2 in BusinessWeek report
Olin is second only to Yale on BusinessWeek’s list for best career placement of 2009 full-time MBA graduates from the nation’s leading business schools (specifically, the percent of graduates reporting job offers 90 days post graduation). Despite the worst economy since the Great Depression, 92 percent of Olin’s 2009 MBAs reported job offers.

Lloyd Braun Creator of hit TV series “Lost” Engages in Fireside Chat
Lloyd Braun, television and Internet media executive, engaged in a fireside chat with Olin BSBA students on Nov. 13. Braun is co-owner of the media company BermanBraun and previously served as chairman of the ABC Entertainment Group where he pitched the idea what would eventually became the hit TV series, “Lost” and also worked with David Chase to envision the concept for “The Sopranos.”

Barry Weiss Sony Music Exec Speaks at Economics of Entertainment Class
Barry Weiss, chairman and CEO of the BMG Label Group, (a division of Sony Music Entertainment), was a guest speaker for the Economics of Entertainment class on Nov. 9. During his visit, he also met with WU Department of Music students and had coffee with two Olin student clubs: Olin Delta Sigma Pi chapter (co-ed undergraduate business fraternity) and the Olin Entertainment and Media Club (an MBA student group).
