Remote Access allows students, faculty, and staff to access electronic information from a location other than the normal on-campus sites (computer lab, office, classrom, etc). Required components include a computer, a phone line, a modem, internet communications software* and an Olin computing account.
Specific information on remote access can be found at: *In most cases, browser software will allow access to all that a remote user could want -- to access email and personal/public files from an off-campus location. Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator are two of the most widely used browsers. FTP software may also be useful as an alternative for downloading/uploading files.
