Remote Email Access

You have several options for accessing your email. How you access your mail will depend on the functionality you require and software you have available.

Please note that the server name for setting up POP/IMAP/SMTP/Web/etc. is the same: mail.olin.wustl.edu.

Windows

  1. Microsoft Outlook -- We recommend that you use Outlook because it provides full access to all features of your mailbox (mail, calendar, contacts, etc.), is what you use in the labs and group rooms, and lets you work with your mailbox when you are not connected to the Internet. Use the following instructions to configure Outlook.

  2. Outlook Web Access (OWA) -- OWA lets you access your mailbox from anywhere as long as you have a web browser and an Internet connection. It is a great way to check mail when travelling or are using someone else's computer.

  3. Windows Phone -- If you have a Windows Phone, you can use ccess your mail, calendar, and contacts.

  4. Outlook Express (or Eudora/Thunderbird.) -- We do NOT recommend the use of Outlook Express or other similar programs such as Eudora, Thunderbird, etc. If you use these programs, you will not be able to access your calendar, contacts, etc. You also may be limited in your ability to use mail from different computers.
